Buenos Aires, December 26. Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro affirmed his readiness to engage in direct and respectful dialogue with the United States amid mounting tensions between the two nations. Maduro cited U.S. campaigns of defamation aimed at destabilizing his government and paving the way for regime change.
"There will always be a president who represents his people, extends a hand, and seeks a path of peace, cooperation, and prosperity," Maduro said.
During the Vice‑Presidential Council meeting at the Palacio de Miraflores, the president stressed that dialogue would be grounded in mutual respect. He added that if anyone in the United States ever considers a conversation to move beyond failed projects of over 25 years, he would be willing to participate.
Maduro also referenced the Boston Group, established in 2002 with participation from Venezuelan deputies and U.S. congressmen, as a precedent for dialogue to resolve political crises.
